GOP Voter Fraud Accusations Suddenly Blowing Up In Their Faces

Republican officials, who have used hysteria about alleged voter fraud as an excuse to support measures that disproportionately block Democratic voters, are furiously trying to distance themselves from a growing number of GOP voter registration drives that either submitted false applications or threw away authentic ones.

The incidents might have been overlooked if not for the GOP's clamorous campaign to restrict registration drives, purge voter rolls, roll back early voting, and pass voter ID laws that opponents point out have the effect of depressing the vote among minorities, the poor and other generally Democratic constituencies.

As one Southern California alt-weekly put it, it's turning into a story of "The Wolf Who Cried Wolf."

Oct. 18, 2012 If the Romney’s can’t win legally, they’ll take over Ohio’s electronic voting machines through investments.

The new owners of Ohio’s voting machines are owned by no other than Tagg Romney the son of one of the Candidates. By virtue of conflict of interest alone, this should be investigated by the DOJ preferably involving the addition of the FBI, Homeland Security and the CIA to ensure this connection will not endanger the vote in Ohio and other states.

NBC/Marist/WSJ Poll: Even After Listless Debate, Obama Leads By 6 In Ohio

It’s still unclear what the long-term fallout from President Barack Obama’s lackluster debate performance will be, but a poll released Thursday shows he continues to hold the upper-hand in the coveted bellwether of Ohio.

That’s the upshot of the latest survey from NBC News, Marist College and the Wall Street Journal, which shows Obama leading Romney among likely Buckeye State voters, 51 percent to 45 percent. While that’s a 2-point uptick for Romney since the previous NBC/Marist/WSJ poll Ohio released a week ago, which showed Obama up 51 percent to 43 percent, voters’ impressions of the two candidates have remained largely the same.

Insiders: Israel Will Attack Iran

Two-thirds of National Journal's National Security Insiders believe Israel will attack Iran to try to derail its nuclear program, but they are divided over whether military action would take place in the coming months or at a later date.

Speculation abounds over whether the Jewish state may strike, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently called upon the United Nations General Assembly to draw a clear "red line" to stop Tehran from developing nuclear weapons. While President Obama has insisted that no option is off the table to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, the administration has so far advocated for a strategy of tougher sanctions and diplomatic pressure.

"If the U.S. strategy in 2013 does not produce noticeable changes in Iran's behavior," one Insider said, "then either Israel will convince the U.S. to strike (their preferred option) or they will go it alone (and the U.S. will share in the consequences)."

Other Insiders believed an Israeli attack is imminent. "The drums of war are beating louder and louder, and the Israelis are concerned they are running out of time to mount an effective attack on the Iranian nuclear program," one Insider said. "The Israelis have lost the element of surprise but believe their nation's existence is threatened by the Iranian program, thus making it likely they will strike Iran in the coming months."

Israel will strike soon, because time is not on its side, another Insider said. "Those who think a nuclear Iran can be deterred don't live in Jerusalem."

Elite Bullies

David Siegel, the owner of Westgate Resorts, sent a surprising email to his employees Monday. 

It said that if President Barack Obama wins re-election and raises Siegel's taxes, he will have to lay off workers and downsize his company — or even shut it down.

"If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, as our current President plans, I will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company," he wrote. "Rather than grow this company I will be forced to cut back. This means fewer jobs, less benefits and certainly less opportunity for everyone."

In a version of Romney's "47 percent" remarks, Siegel added that "people like me who made all the right decisions and invested in themselves are being forced to bail out all the people who didn't. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed 42 years of my life for."

So now we have the sorry spectacle of whiney wealthy employers demanding that their employees vote for Mitt Rmoney or risk losing their jobs. Somehow I don't think this is a new phenomenon, as I recall a previous employer of mine rather strongly encouraging his employees to vote for Ronald Reagan. We've heard of several instances occuring recently, all of them right wing employers, but I can imagine that there are a few lefty job creators doing the same thing.

Obviously this behavior by some employers is quite naughty by democratic standards. One of the most precious things in our society is the principle of "one man, one vote" and that vote is supposed to be secret and sacred. You should not be afeared of suffering repercussions over how you vote, other than possible repercussions due to the policies of the fellah you helped elect!

It kinda surprises me to see that these cretins who try to bully their employees into voting for their guy don't seem to feel any shame when their shenanigans are brought to light. No, they seem quite proud of their actions. One of the worst offenders has even bragged that he insured the re-election of that turd GWB.

I've become more worried recently that Mitt Rmoney will in fact be elected President. I note the above employer intimidation, along with the success Rmoney is having peddling increasingly bodacious lies about his ever changing positions on issues, and the large numbers of white folks who believe insidiously ridiculous lies about O'Bama (Muslim, not born in the USA, commie, socialist, nazi, etc.). The Republican Plan, hatched in a back room even as O'Bama was being inaugurated back in 2009, has come to fruition. Most Americans have bought right wing lies because they are unable or unwilling to research-research-research, or they are so afraid they will believe anyone who makes it sound easy to fix our problems.

In conclusion, we are doomed.
