A minority of voters have foisted an Autocrat upon the nation. Autocrat: someone who insists on complete obedience from others; an imperious or domineering person.

CNN DIDN'T BOTHER TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT, SO I WILL
Globally, no candidate has done more for women’s rights than Secretary Clinton. In her time as Secretary of State, she appointed the first-ever Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues at the State Department; oversaw the creation of the U.S. National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security; and introduced the Global Health Initiative (GHI), investing $63 billion to help partner countries provide robust maternal and infant health services. Secretary Clinton has worked tirelessly to elevate women’s rights as the key towards economic prosperity and global stability. Her public and private initiatives have appropriated millions of dollars towards providing secondary education to young girls around the world, and tackling the obstacles that face at-risk youths. ~ HuffPo

ONLY ON FUX: Fox uses stuffed armadillo to persuade viewers ‘there’s nothing to worry about with global warming’
Jabber jabber nonsense nonsense... “There’s nothing to worry about with global warming,” Morano agreed. “So say the top scientists around the world.”
Climate scientists agree that humanity is about to cause an equal or greater rise in sea level, but they have tended to assume that such a large increase would take centuries, at least. The new paper argues that it could happen far more rapidly, with the worst case being several feet of sea-level rise over the next 50 years, followed by increases so precipitous that they would force humanity to beat a hasty retreat from the coasts.
“That would mean loss of all coastal cities, most of the world’s large cities and all their history,” Dr. Hansen said in a video statementthat accompanied the new paper. ~ NYT

Army sharpshooter points ‘unloaded’ gun at wife and pulls the trigger — and now she’s dead
Ah, America's love affair with gunz...
An Army veteran shot and killed his wife at their Kentucky home — but he says the shooting was accidental.
Damien Lacambra fatally shot his wife, 21-year-old Amelia Lacambra, on Sunday afternoon in the St. Regis Park neighborhood of Louisville, reported WLKY-TV.
Police said the 22-year-old Lacambra, who appears to be wearing an Army sharpshooter badge in a Facebook photo, pointed the gun at his wife and pulled the trigger — but he said he wasn’t aware the gun was loaded.

The NRA Just Got Caught In A Lie That Shatters EVERYTHING They Stand For
Who can forget how emotional Wayne LaPierre was after Sandy Hook. As he stood at the podium with the NRA logo and raised his voice in disgust…and demanded we put more guns outside first-grade classrooms. An armed security guard for every hallway! Never mind that schools in many states have resource officers from their local police or sheriff’s department on hand, LaPierre needed to allow the pure anger to come through. Where were all the guns when those kids needed saving?
That’s the NRA’s sole purpose for existing now: To make sure everyone has a gun, possibly 2. The 4.5 million-member organization is a powerhouse on Capitol Hill, spending $3.6 million lobbying in 2015 and nearly another million in campaign contributions, primarily to Republicans. They only care about one thing: a complete lack of gun control laws and regulations. They’d like to see the Smiths with a battery of surface to air missiles in their side yard to compliment the Wilsons’ anti-aircraft cannon. Stingers for all the kids this Fourth of July! They want everyone with a couple hundred bucks to be able to walk in and purchase a gun, no questions asked because that’s what the gun manufacturers pay them to want.
One of their most successful strategies has been to build up the “bad guy” theory. How often do you hear some meathead say “it would be better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have one.” Well, as it turns out, even with 300 million guns floating around the country, very few are used to thwart a crime or in an actual act of self-defense. Josh Sugarmann, executive director of the Violence Policy Center released a study about the use of firearms in self-defense and other “justified” shootings by private citizens with some scathing remarks for the lies perpetrated by the NRA.
Basically, the NRA is full of sh*t... They’re selling fear and lies. ISIS is coming to get you. Burglars want to rape and kill your family and steal your flat screen. The feds are coming to take your guns and toss you in FEMA’s famed “re-education” camps. That’s good stuff right there.

Pastor: 2 adults, 5 children dead in shootings at multiple Pike County locations
PEEBLES, Ohio -- Multiple people are dead after shootings at multiple locations on Union Hill Road in Pike County just northeast of Peebles, according to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Two adults and five children are among those shot to death, according to Pastor Phil Fulton of the nearby Union Hill Church. There is no word on the exact number of victims.
Fulton said it was “very out of character for our community, but with the ways of the world, the way things are going, (so) I guess maybe we shouldn’t be surprised. But we are. This is so tragic.”
Even though it's about eight miles from the scene, Peebles High School was put on "lockout" as a precautionary measure. This status meant that nobody is going in or out for about an hour, but school was still in session.

The Backfire Effect
I was probably the last right winger who was convinced to become a liberal, persuaded by logic and reasonable debate. Of course, I had been a liberal before turning conservative, so I was already predisposed to reasonableness and rational thinking, I guess...
This probably explains why it's useless to argue/discuss politics or religion: Let's say you're having an argument with a friend about oh, let's say, Obamacare, or even who the best quarterback in the NFL is. You present your friend with a set of facts that you would think would clinch your argument. And yet, while the facts you present clearly contradict your friend's position, you discover that presenting your friend with these facts does nothing to correct his or her false or unsubstantiated belief. In fact, your friend is even more emboldened in his or her belief after being exposed to corrective information.
A group of Dartmouth researchers have studied the problem of the so-called "backfire effect," which is defined as the effect in which "corrections actually increase misperceptions among the group in question."
